How it forms
A blue fiber turned to gold.
Tiger's eye belongs to the quartz group of minerals and is made mainly of silicon dioxide. It forms through pseudomorphism: crocidolite, a fibrous blue mineral, is replaced by golden-brown to reddish-brown quartz that keeps the original fibrous shape. That structure gives tiger's eye its chatoyancy, the "cat's eye effect," a shimmering band of light that glides across the surface as the stone turns, and the resemblance to a tiger's eye that gave it its name.
A stone of courage and strength.
In crystal tradition, spheres send energy out equally in every direction, and their symmetrical shape is thought to emit a high frequency of positive energy.
Tiger's eye is known as a stone of courage and strength, said to empower bold action and help overcome challenges with confidence. It is said to enhance intuition and psychic abilities for a deeper connection with inner wisdom, and to promote balance and harmony, releasing fear and anxiety while instilling groundedness and protection. It is closely associated with the Solar Plexus chakra, believed to stimulate and balance it for personal power, confidence, self-esteem and inner strength.
In ancient times tiger's eye was believed to bestow courage and strength, and was revered as a protective talisman to ward off evil spirits and bring good fortune. Folklore says wearing it sharpened intuition and the senses, helping its wearer move through life's challenges with grace and resilience, and it has been treasured in cultures worldwide for centuries.
Crystals and stones have been prized through the ages for their timeless beauty, rich history and believed metaphysical properties; Spirit Magicka makes no guarantee of any mystical effect.
