Born of evaporating seas.
Selenite takes its name from the Greek word for moon. A variety of gypsum, it forms when seawater evaporates and leaves mineral deposits behind, which slowly transform into delicate, translucent crystals that look like frozen moonlight.

A stone of purification, clarity and divine connection.
In crystal tradition, selenite is revered for a pure, high vibration said to promote clarity, peace and spiritual connection, and it is believed to cleanse and purify other crystals, spaces and the aura, making it a favorite for energetic cleansing and protection.
Placed in a space, a selenite disk is believed to clear negative energy and create a harmonious atmosphere. Selenite is said to form a shield of light around the aura that dispels negativity and prevents energetic attacks, and to enhance and amplify the energy of the crystals around it. It is often used to clear mental clutter, promote clarity and sharpen concentration, is associated with the crown chakra and higher states of consciousness, and is believed to soothe and calm the emotions.
Through the ages, crystals have been collected and prized for their beauty, their rich history and their potential spiritual and metaphysical properties. We love the idea that crystals may hold mystical properties, though nothing we sell comes with a mystical guarantee.
