Selenite takes its name from the Greek word for moon. It is a variety of gypsum, formed when seawater evaporates and leaves mineral deposits behind that slowly transform into crystal.
Its fine parallel fibers give it a soft, translucent glow, like frozen moonlight, and every disk carries its own pattern beneath the gold.
