The blue of artists and kings
Lazurite, calcite and a scatter of pyrite.
Lapis lazuli is a rock made mostly of lazurite, a complex blue mineral, with white calcite and white-gold pyrite. Formed through contact metamorphism, it gets its deep blue color and golden specks from that mix.
It has been treasured and traded for over 6,000 years across Afghanistan, Africa and Europe, a symbol of honor, royalty, power and spirituality. The word ‘lapis’ comes from Persian for the color blue. Ground into ultramarine, its blue with a hint of red undertone became one of the most coveted pigments artists ever used, and it was also shaped into beads, cabochons and carvings.
A stone of wisdom, truth and inner vision.
In crystal tradition, rough stones in their raw, unpolished form are believed to hold a powerful energy and the natural vibrations of the Earth, deepening your connection to the natural world and to your spiritual practice.
Lapis lazuli is said to enhance spiritual growth, inner vision and insight, bringing clarity and self-awareness. It is believed to stimulate the mind toward exploration, creativity and critical thinking, and to aid communication, expression and harmonious relationships. It is associated with the Third Eye chakra, supporting intuition, spiritual awareness and higher consciousness.
Crystals have been prized for centuries for their beauty and believed metaphysical properties; Spirit Magicka makes no guarantee of any mystical or healing effect.
