What is amazonite?
A blue-green feldspar, colored by lead.
Amazonite is a blue-green tectosilicate mineral, a variety of potassium feldspar called microcline. Its color comes from lead within the stone. It can be colorless, white, yellow, pink, red or gray, but it is usually aqua blue with green.
It is named after the Amazon River, though it comes from other areas around Brazil and from mines around the world.

Amazonite is sometimes called the feel-better stone and the crystal of creativity. It is believed to soothe and calm the nerves, help with stress, and help you think and feel more clearly.
In crystal energy work, amazonite is associated with the Heart and Solar Plexus chakras and is said to connect the higher Heart chakra to the Throat chakra. It is believed to be a symbol of the heart chakra, of luck, and of courage of the heart.
Legend has it that the Amazonians, a tribe of fierce warrior women, used amazonite to adorn their weapons, and the stone’s story reaches back to the Stone Age. Its energy is said to be as strong as the river it is named after: believed to soothe violence, repress irrationality and quiet restlessness.
